چکیده

Data association target tracking algorithms assume knowledge of target detection probability and sensor measurement noise. They are unknown and/or variable. Target signal is unknown due to unknown and time-varying target radar cross section as well as multi-path signal attenuation and variable propagation signal losses. Noise power is unknown due to the presence of unknown clutter signal whose residual power will increase the detection noise level, electronic counter-measures will also increase the noise power. The probability of target detection and the sensor measurement noise are affected by the (unknown) signal to noise ratio. Sensor measurement noise is also affected by proximity of large clutter reflectors due to the finite resolution capabilities of the sensor. This paper is a study of the effects of unknown probability of detection and sensor noise to the false track discrimination capabilities of IPDA and IMM-PDA target tracking algorithms.

Clutter Removal in Sonar Image Target Tracking Using PHD Filter

In this paper we have presented a new procedure for sonar image target tracking using PHD filter besides K-means algorithm in high density clutter environment. We have presented K-means as data clustering technique in this paper to estimate the location of targets. Sonar images target tracking is a very good sample of high clutter environment. As can be seen, PHD filter because of its special f...

Multi-Sensor Multi-Target Tracking with Out-of-Sequence Measurements∗

In multi-sensor target tracking systems, measurements from the same target can arrive out of sequence, called the out-of-sequence measurements (OOSMs). The resulting problem – how to update the current state estimates with the “old” measurements – has been solved optimally and sub-optimally for onelag as well as multi-lag OOSM update. In general, the existing algorithms assume perfect target de...

An advanced Data Mining Strategy for Multi-Target Tracking in Adverse Environments

For real-time tracking, simple and accurate data mining is required. The detection process produces a number of clutter measurements in addition to the target measurements and the data mining are important to stochastically distinguish between the target and the clutter measurements. In this paper we propose a computationally efficient data mining algorithm which is combined with a particle fil...

A Comparison of Data Association Techniques for Target Tracking in Clutter

In tracking a single target in clutter, many algorithms have been developed ranging in complexity from nearest neighbor (NN) and probabilistic data association (PDA) to the optimal Bayesian filter. In multiple-target tracking, a number of the techniques have been exercised such as the JPDA and the multiple hypothesis (MHT) schemes. Sub-optimal algorithms, such as the PDA filter, have been used ...

Heterogeneous Multiple Sensors Joint Tracking of Maneuvering Target in Clutter

To solve the problem of tracking maneuvering airborne targets in the presence of clutter, an improved interacting multiple model probability data association algorithm (IMMPDA-MDCM) using radar/IR sensors fusion is proposed. Under the architecture of the proposed algorithm, the radar/IR centralized fusion tracking scheme of IMMPDA-MDCM is designed to guarantee the observability of the target st...
